The Artist

Viveka Biondic

I am a multidisciplinary artist working with painting, performance, photography, and text. My practice explores questions of femininity, embodiment, identity, and emotional experience in relation to personal biography, societal structures, and art-historical contexts.

My work develops through process-based, cross-media projects in which performance has become a central tool. Through embodied action, repetition, and physical presence, I examine states of vulnerability, resistance, rupture, and transformation. The body functions as both material and site of negotiation, where inner states are tested and made visible.

Rather than producing closed narratives, my works remain deliberately open. Fragility is understood not as weakness, but as a productive condition for reflection, change, and resilience. Feminist and performative discourses are not treated as background references, but as active frameworks shaping my artistic research.

Alongside my independent practice, I work in ongoing collaboration with Ars Flagranti, a partnership that supports aspects of metal production, curatorial exchange, and long-term project development.

“Her installation The Women and works from The Dress didn’t just speak—they moved people. Through minimal yet powerful gestures, she created space for reflection, for feeling, for remembering what it means to be seen as a woman and as a creator. Her work brought a vital pulse to the project, and her presence elevated the entire collaboration.”
— Ixchel Castellón Piedras, Director General, Colectivo Oaxaca Cultural A.C
