Kopus
Kopuş is a group exhibition presented in Istanbul, curated by İbrahim Halil Rençber. The exhibition brings together contemporary artistic positions that address rupture, disconnection, and processes of silent transformation within personal and collective contexts.
Viveka Biondic was personally invited by the curator to participate in the exhibition. Her contribution engages with themes of inner fracture, emotional tension, and resilience, aligning with the exhibition’s broader conceptual framework.
Kopuş was exhibited at the Beylikdüzü Atatürk Kültür ve Sanat Merkezi as part of an international curatorial program.
The Dress
The Dress is a solo exhibition by Viveka Biondic presented at Galerie Frei.Haus. The project examines femininity, strength, and self-image through painting, focusing on women whose presence, confidence, and inner tension shape the work more than any garment itself.
The exhibition is realized in partnership with Ars Flagranti, whose focus on material, craftsmanship, and metal-based structures enters into a direct dialogue with the physicality of the works. This collaboration emphasizes durability, precision, and the transformation of traditionally fragile themes into permanent form.
In parallel, the exhibition is developed in collaboration with So What. The women depicted in the paintings appear strong, controlled, and self-assured. The decision to collaborate with So What is rooted in the understanding that these very qualities can carry risk: the pressure to remain confident, disciplined, and in control can make even the strongest women vulnerable to eating disorders. When control slips, the resulting struggles are often invisible precisely because they contradict external expectations.
By bringing these perspectives together, The Dress creates space for a nuanced conversation about strength, vulnerability, and the silent pressures placed on women—beyond stereotypes, and beyond appearances.
Museo de Estal Arte Popular
Import-Export: Arte en Diálogo México / Austria
Museo Estatal de Arte Popular, San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca
April 11 – April 25
From April 11 to 25, the Museo Estatal de Arte Popular (MEAPO) presented Import-Export: Arte en Diálogo México / Austria, part of the international project Import Export AT/MX. The exhibition was curated by Viveka Biondic in collaboration with Colectivo Oaxaca, directed by Ixchel Castellón, and supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Mexico.
Inaugurated by Anja Hahn from the Kulturforum, the show featured six of Viveka’s small “the dress” paintings, brought into dialogue with Oaxacan artistic traditions. Under the leadership of Carlomagno Pedro Martínez, MEAPO continues to connect local heritage with international contemporary practices, and this project embodied that mission of cultural exchange.

Kintsugi- The Golden Break Off
Kintsugi- The Golden Break-Off
Galerie Das Zimmer
11.01.23-25.01.23
The Golden Break-Off explored the act of release through abstraction and ritual. The exhibition featured abstract works and monotypes created from broken plates, symbolizing the letting go of moments and habits.
At the opening, artist Viveka Biondic performed a personal ritual: breaking 28 plates — one for each year of her life — while gifting the 30th plate to be shattered after her 31st birthday. Strikingly, the 28th plate resisted breaking, remaining intact.
Following this, a video performance documented the collection of fragments. From these broken pieces, a new artwork emerged: all shards painted in gold, arranged around the unbroken 28th plate. This installation, together with the video works, was presented at the exhibition’s closing, completing the cycle of rupture and transformation.
