Import-Export: Arte en Diálogo México / Austria

From April 11 to 25, the Museo Estatal de Arte Popular (MEAPO) presented Import-Export: Arte en Diálogo México / Austria, part of the international project Import Export AT/MX. The exhibition was curated by Viveka Biondic in collaboration with Colectivo Oaxaca, directed by Ixchel Castellón, and supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Mexico.

Inaugurated by Anja Hahn from the Kulturforum, the show featured six of Viveka’s small “the dress” paintings, brought into dialogue with Oaxacan artistic traditions. Under the leadership of Carlomagno Pedro Martínez, MEAPO continues to connect local heritage with international contemporary practices, and this project embodied that mission of cultural exchange.
